Abstract
Permeation of water and various water-soluble solute separation through poly-γ-benzyl-L-glutamate (PBLG) membranes were investigated. PBLG was prepared by the polymerization of γ-BLG NCA at 30℃ in dioxane using triethylamine as an initiator. PBLG membranes were cast from dioxane solution. Water flux increased with increase in temperature and applied pressure. The activation energy calculated from the slope of Arrhenius plot of Hydraulic permeability Kw was 6.20kcal/mole. The membrane exhibited a molecular weight cutoff at the range of Mw=20,000. When PBLG membranes were prepared on glass plate, the membrane performance was improved as the following treatment conditions were applied. Solvent evaporation temperature 70℃, annealing temperature 70℃.

PBLG막의 투수성 및 수용성용질의 분리성능을 검토하였다. γ-BLG NCA를 삼차아민인 트리에틸아민을 개시제로 하여 30℃의 Dioxane 용매중에서 중합시켜 PBLG를 얻었다. PBLG의 Dioxane 용액을 유리판위에 유연하여 PBLG막을 만들었다. 투수성의 실험결과 Water flux는 온도와 압력이 증가함에 따라 증가하였다. Hydraulic permeability kw를 Arrhenius plot한 기울기로부터 활성화에너지가 6.20 Kcal/mole인 것을 알았다. 용질배제율은 수용성용질의 분자량이 20000이상일 때 분리가 잘되었다. PBLG막을 유리판 위에서 제막할 때 용매증발온도 70℃ 열처리온도 70℃로 제막하는 것이 막성능에 유리하였다.
