Abstract
The accumulation of space charge at the interface in polyethylene (PE) laminates has been investigated by measuring the charge distribution. It has been found that charge accumulates at the interfaces of PE laminates and the amount and polarity of the charge are affected by material parameters such as the amount of low molecular weight part. It has also been found that a proper treatment of the interfaces can change the amount of charge accumulated at the interfaces. Both amount and polarity of the charge accumulated in the laminates composed of polyethylenes having different melt indices are found to be dependent on the magnitude of applied voltage. This implies that the formation of charge at the interfaces was governed by heterocharge at electric fields of up to a few tens kV/mm and these heterocharge decreased at higher fields because of an enhanced charge injection.

폴리에틸렌 laminate을 이용하여 폴리에틸렌 계면에서의 전하형성 특성을 알아보았다. 본 연구를 통하여 laminate 계면은 전하이동을 방해하는 역할을 하여 계면에는 많은 양의 전하가 축적되며, 이 계면전하의 양과 극성은 저분자량 함량 등의 재료특성에 의해 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한 계면을 적절히 처리함으로서 계면전하량이 바뀔 수 있음을 알았다. 용융지수가 다른 두 폴리에틸렌으로 이루어진 laminate에 있어 계면전하의 양과 극성은 전압크기에 따라 상이하게 나타났는데, laminate의 계면전하는 수십 kV/mm 정도의 전기장에서는 이종전하형성이 우세하나 더 높은 전압에서는 결국 전극으로부터 주입된 동종전하가 이종전하를 감소시키는 것으로 관찰되었다. 이러한 견과는 블렌드에도 적용됨을 알았다.
