Abstract
The melt characteristics for the melt spinning of PAN were studied. It could be shown that the thermal degradation of the PAN melt before the melting point was due to the inherent property in its molecular structure. For the preparation of polymer melt samples capable to recover the defects of spinned fibers of the PAN, the addition of water as well as PEG into the PAN was carried out and resulted that the water played the role of a plasticizer for the PAN and lowered the melting point down. By the melting and extrusion tests using the polymer melt measuring device and the capillary rheometer. It was also proved that the optimal melt spinning conditions for the mixture of PAN (74wt%)-PEG(7wt%)-water(l9wt%) were 165-l70℃ and 6.4-6.8 atm.

폴리아크릴로니트릴(polyacrylonitrile:PAN)의 용융방사를 위한 용융물 특성에 대하여 고찰하였다. 문제점으로 제시된 PAN의 조기 열분해 현상은 그 분자구조상의 특성에 기인한 것이며, 이 사실과 함께 의류용 섬유로의 부적합성까지를 보완하기 위해 물과 폴리에틸렌글리콜[poly(ethylene glycol):PEG]을 첨가한 PAN 용융물로 실험한 결과, 물이 PAN에 대한 가소제 역할을 하여 용융점을 저하시킴을 알 수 있었다. 또한 고분자 용융측정기 및 capillary rheometer로 용융·압출실험을 하여, PAN(74wt%)-PEG(7wt%)-물(l9wt%)의 혼합물에 대한 최적용융방사조건이 165-l70℃, 6.4-6.8 atm으로 설정될 수 있음을 밝혔다.
