Abstract
Because the existing solvent based pressure-sensitive adhesives cause various environmental problens, water-based pressure-sensitive adhesives have been received gradually considerable attention. But, the water-based pressure-sensitive adhesive have less water-resistant, heat-resistant, and adhesive properties than the solvent based pressure-sensitive adhesives. In this study, the effects of acrylic acid contents and molecular weight on the adhesive properties were investigated. The effects were studied by measuring initial tackiness, peel strength, and holding sttength. Experimental results show that the initial tackiness and peel strength were improved as the molecular weight and methacrylic acid decreased. In contrast, the holding strength was improved as the molecular weight of polymer and concentration of methacrylic acid increased.

기존 용제형 점착제는 여럭 가지 환경문제를 발생시키기 때문에 수계 에멀젼 점착제를 개발하는데 관심과 연구가 점차 늘어가고 있는 추세이다. 그러나, 수계 에멀젼 저막제는 용제형 점착제에 비해 내수성, 내열성 그리고 점착성 등 물성이 뒤지기 때문에 용제형 점착제 수준의 물성을 얻기 위해 많은 연구를 필요로 한다. 본 연구에서는 2-에틸헥실아크릴레이트(2-ethylhexyl acrylate), n-부틸아크릴레이트 (n-butyl acrylate), 그리고 메타크릴산 (methacrylic acid) 단량체를 이용하여 에멀젼 중합하였고, 접착성에 영향을 줄 수 있는 메타크릴산의 양과 분자량을 변화시켜 수계아크릴 점착제을 제조하였다. 제조된 점착제를 이요하여 단랑체 조성과 분자량 변화에 따른 초기점착력, 접착력 그리고 유지력을 측정함으로써 그 영향을 조사하엿다. 실험결과 초기점착력과 접착력은 분자량과 메타크릴산의 농도가 감소할수록 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으며, 유지력은 분자량과 메타크릴산의 농도가 클수록 증가하였다.
