Nylon 6-Polyethersulfone(PES)-Nylon 6 block copolymers weve synthesized and their structure and properties were examined. PES oligomers of various molecular weights with chlorine end group were prepared by the solution polycondensation reaction of 4,4'-sulfonyldiphenol and excess amount of bis-(p-chlorophey)sulfone to guarantee terminal chlorine. These polymeric activators, i.e., PES oligomers with terminal chlorine, were used as activators to prepare Nylon 6-PES-Nylon 6 block copolymers by anionic ring opening polymerization of ε-caprolactam. The structure and properties of these block copolymers were examined by IR, NMR, transmission electron microscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. Miscibility between PES block and Nylon 6 block was analyzed from the thermal properties measured by differential scanning calorimetry.
Polyethersulfone(PES)과 Nylon 6 블록으로 구성된 블록 공중합체를 합성하고 그 구조와 성질을 조사하였다. 4,4'-sulfonyldiphenol과 과량의 bis-(p-chlorophenyl)sulfone을 용액 축중합하여 말단이 Cl인 PES oligomer를 합성하고 이를 활성제로 사용하여 ε-caprolactam을 음이온 개환 중합시켜 Nylon 6-PES-Nylon 6 블록 공중합체를 합성하였다. 합성된 블록 공중합체는 IR, NMR 등을 이용하여 구조를 확인하고 조성을 분석하였다. 투과 전자현미경을 사용하여 블록 공중합체의 morphology를 관찰하였고, 열중량 분석으로 열안정성을 조사하였다. DSC로 열적 성질을 조사하고 이로부터 블록 간의 상용거동을 조사하였다.
