Performance Improvement of Unsaturated Polyester/Alumina Composites for Organic Building Material : (Ⅱ) Mechanical Properties of Different Matrix Resins

Abstract
In order to improve the mechanical properties of unsaturated polyester/alumina composite, polymer composites were fabricated using different matrix resins. In the case of surface treated alumina/unsaturated polyester composite, maximum flexural properties were observed in the composite prepared from the alumina treated with silane coupling agents of 0.50 wt%, irrespective of the types of matrix resins. Isophthalic polyester composite show the highest tensile properties and bisphenol A polyester composites have the lowest tensile properties among the unsaturated polyester composites studied. In addition, the relationship between the mechanical properties of silane treated alumina/unsaturated polyester composites and interfacial modification were also discussed.
불포화 폴리에스테르/알루미나 복합재료의 기계적 물성을 증진시킬 목적으로, 서로 다른 매트릭스를 이용하여 복합재료를 제조하였다. 충전제인 알루미나의 표면은 개질화한 불포화 폴리에스테르/알루미나 복합재료의 경우, 굴곡 물성의 최대값은 실란 농도가 0.50wt%일 때였으며, 매트릭스 종류에는 무관하였다. 불포화 폴리에스테르/알루미나 복합재료의 인장 물성은 isophthalic계가 가장 우수하였으며, bisphenol A계가 가장 낮은 물성을 나타내었다. 또한 실란 카플링제로 알루미나 표면을 개질화하였을 때 복합재료의 기계적 물성과 복합재료 계면 개질화와의 상관관계도 함에 고찰하였다.
