Abstract
We synthesized energetic poly(glycidyl nitrate)(PGN) for plastic-bonded explosive and measured its thermodynamic parameters. Glycidyl nitrate(GN) as a monomer was synthesized from nitration of epichlorohydrin(EP), and then polymerized by cationic ring opening polymerization. The unreacted monomer concentration was measured by GC. Thermodynamic parameters were obtained from the ceiling temperature(Tc) values of 1 mole monomer at each reaction temperature. We varied feed rate of monomer, concentration of initiator and monomer to control molecular weight and polydispersity of PGN. Number average molecular weight(Mn), polydispersity, hydroxyl number and glass transition temperature, viscosity of PGN were 1400, 1.31, 0.8 eq/kg, -31.9℃, and 300 poise respectively.

복합화약인 plastic-bonded explosives(PBX's)에 적용할 에너지 함유 선폴리머인 poly(glycidyl nitrate) (PGN)을 합성하고, 열역학적 변수를 측정하였다. Epichlorohydrin(EP)을 출발물질로 glycidyl nitrate(GN)를 합성하였고, 이를 양이온 개환중합하여 PGN을 합성하였다. GC를 이용하여 중합도중 반응하지 않은 단량체의 농도를 측정하였으며, 이로부터 반응속도, 각 반응온도에서 구한 천정온도(Tc)로부터 열역학적 변수를 계산하였다. GN의 주입속도와 개시제 및 촉매의 양을 조절하여 PGN을 중합하였으며, PGN의 수평균 분자량(Mn)은 1400이고 polydispersity는 1.31이었다. OH 당량은 0.8eq/kg이며, Tg가 -31.9℃ 점도가 300poise인 특성을 나타내었다.
