Abstract
The role of polyarylate-polystyrene(PAR-PS) block copolymer prepared form macroinitiator in compatibilizing the PAR-PS blends was studied. The compatibility was judged based on morphology, density, thermal, mechanical, and rheological properties of the blends. The reduced domain size and the increased density indicate the effectiveness of the block copolymer in enhancing the compatibility. Results of mechanical and rheological property measurements also could be explained by the compatibilizing effect of the block copolymer.

폴리아릴레이트/폴리스티렌 블렌드계에 있어서 macroazoinitiator를 사용하여 합성한 폴리아릴레이트-폴리스티렌(PAR-PS) 블록 공중합체의 상용화 효과를 조사하였다. 블렌드의 밀도와 형태학적 변화, 열적, 기계적, 유변학적 성질들을 조사하여 상용성을 관찰하였다. 블렌드의 분산상 입자크기의 감소와 밀도의 증가로부터 블록 공중합체의 상용화제로서의 역할을 확인할 수 있었으며, 기계적, 유변학적 성질의 측정 결과들도 PAR-RS 공중합체의 상용화 효과로 설명할 수 있었다.
