Gelatin-g-poly (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) copolymers were obtained in an aqueous medium using K
2S
2O
S initiator. Grafting conversion, grafting efficiency and grafting percentage were determined as functions of polymerization, temperature, monomer concentration, polymerization time and initiator concentration. The grafting percentage increased up to 50℃ and then decreased. The grafting conversion increased up to 3.46×10
-2M and then constant with increasing of initiator concentration. The concentration of monomer and gelatin showed a minimum grafting conversion around 1 wt. %. The percentage of swelling of grafted copolymer increased with increasing of grafting. The weight loss of the grafted copolymer in pepsin decreased with increasing of grafting.
Gelatin에 HEMA를 graft광중합 할때 반응시간, 반응온도, monomer 농도, gelatin농도 및 개시제 농도의 효과를 살폈으며 graft 공중합된 시료의 팽윤도와 효소에 의한 생체 분해성이 검토되었다 50℃에서 grafting percentage는 제일 컸고, 개시제의 농도는 3.46×10
-2M부근에서, monomer 및 gelatin농도는 약 1 wt%에서 최대의 grafting conversion을 나타냈다. graft 공중합된 팽윤도는 graft율이 증가함에따라 증가하였으나 생체분해는 graft율이 증가함에 따라 적게 일어났다.
