Abstract
A quantitative relationship of mass dependent interaction between surface hydroxyl groups of silica and Mass of repeating unit of polymers was derived, This relationship was in good agreement with the results obtained in adsorption experiment of acrylate polymers. In a series of acrylate monomers ΔνOH Values, a direct measure of surface energy, were proportional to electron densities of adsorption sites of acrylates. Also preferential adsorption phenomenon could be explained by this relationship.
