Abstract
Radical copolymerization of ethyl-N-vinylcarbamate (EVC) with vinyl acetate (VAc) was carried out at 75℃ in solvents. The intrinsic viscosities of the copolymers were about 0.15-0.20 and decreased with the decrease of EVC in feed composition. The monomer reactivity ratios of EVC-VAc copolymerization and Alfrey-Price''s Q and e values for EVC were determined. The results obtained were as follows. EVC(1)-VAc(2) r1=1.65, r2=0.39 (75℃, ethanol), Q1=0.15, e1=-0.97 (75℃, ethanol) r1=2.09, r2=0.39 (75℃, dioxane), Q1=0.14, e1=-0.75 (75℃, dioxane) The copolymerization parameter of EVC-VAc system showed a very weak solvent effect. These results are interpreted to be that EVC exhibits a week tautomerism.

에틸-N-비닐카르바메이트(EVC)와 초산비닐(VAc)의 라디칼공중합을 75℃에서 에탄올과 디옥산 중에서 행하였다. 그 공중합체의 극한점도는 0.15∼0.20 범위였으며, 두 단량체의 공급조성에 있어서 EVC의 몰분율이 감소함에 따라 감소하였다. EVC-VAc 공중합의 단량체반응성비와 EVC의 Q와 e값은 다음과 같았다. EVC(1)-VAc(2) r1=1.65, r2=0.39 (75℃, 에탄올), Q1=0.15, e1=-0.97 (75℃, 에탄올) r1=2.09, r2=0.39 (75℃, 디옥산), Q1=0.14, e1=-0.75 (75℃, 디옥산) EVC-VAc계의 공중합 파라미터는 약한 용매효과를 나타내었고 이 결과는 EVC가 약한 토 오토메리현상을 가지는 것으로 해석될 수 있다.
