Electron beam curable prepolymers were prepared by the addition reaction of methyl methacrylate-glycidyl methacrylate copolymer with methacrylic acid, and electron beam curing was studied for the prepolymer and their mixtures of several kind of vinyl monomers. When the reaction was carried out in the presence of triethylbenzyl ammonium chloride in N,N-dimethyl formamide solution, the rate of addition reaction obeyed first-order kinetics. In the electron beam curing, the rate of gel formation of the prepolymer was slower than that of the mixtures of prepolymer and monomers. In the curing of mixtures of prepolymer with polyethyleneglycol dimethacrylates, the rate of gel formation increased with the increase in the degree of polymerization of polyethylene oxide fraction of polyethyleneglycol dimethacrylate, and decreased with the increase the polyethyleneglycol dimethacrylate content. The properties of cured coatings were also examined.
Methyl methacrylate-glycidyl methacylate 공중합체와 methacrylic acid를 부가반응시켜 전자선경화성 prepolymer를 합성하고 Prepolymer와 여러 가지 비닐계 단량체 혼합물의 전자선결화에 대해서 검토하였다. N,N-dimethyl formamide 용매중 triethylbenzyl ammonium chloride 촉매 존재하에서 반응시켰을 때 반응은 1차반응에 해당하였다. 전자선경화에 있어서의 prepolymer의 경화속도는 prepolymer와 단량체혼합물 보다는 늦다. Prepolymer와 polyethyleneglycol dimethacrylate 혼합물의 전자선조사에서 경화속도는 polyethyleneglycol dimethacrylate 중 polyethylene oxide의 중합도가 증가할수록 증가하였고 그 polyethyleneglycol dimethacrylate의 함량이 증가할수록 감소하였다. 경화된 도막의 성질을 아울러 검토하였다.
