Abstract
The novolac type phenolic resins were synthesized and electron beam curing was carried out to the prepolymer obtained by the reaction of the phenolic resin and glycidyl methacrylate in the presence of triethylbenzyl ammonium chloride. When the prepolymer and its mixtures with monomers were irradiated using electron beams at a dose rate of 3 Mrad/sec, the curing were completed at a dose 2.5 and 3 Mrad respectively. The effects of oxygen and that of hydroxyl group in the prepolymer on electron beam curing were also examined.

노볼락형 페놀-포름알데히드 수지를 합성하고 그 수지와 메타크릴산 글리시딜을 염화벤질 트리에틸 암모늄 촉매하에서 반응시켜 얻은 prepolymer를 전자선 경화시켰다. Dose rate 3Mrad/sec에서 전자선 조사하였을때 약 2.5Mrad에서 경화가 가능하였고 단위체 혼합물은 3Mrad에서 경화되었다. 산소의 영향, prepolymer에 잔존하는 페놀성 수산기가 전자선 경화에 미치는 영향에 대해서 아울러 검토하였다.
