Distribution coefficient (K
d) of metal ions and ion binding ability of alkali metal (Li, Na, K) picrates on sulfonated oligo (p-phenylene sulfide) (SOPS) ion exchanger was studied. Distribution coefficient (K
d) increased in the order Li(Ⅰ)
d) increased for strong polarity of solvent, low reaction temperature and increased atom number. In the bonding reaction of SOPS with the metal of alkali picrate, enthalpy (ΔH) and entropy (ΔS) were -0.814 ~ -1.304 kcal/mol and 12.468 ~ 14.207cal/K·mol respectively. It was spontaneous reaction due to the negative value of Gibbs's free energy.
